Australia’s small businesses are in crisis.
Behind every closing shopfront is a family, a dream, and a team of workers trying to make ends meet. These businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, driving employment, innovation, and local resilience. Yet they are being left behind while costs soar and support stalls.
Big corporations have the means and influence to survive. Small businesses don’t — and they’re paying the price for it.
Enough is enough.
We call on Federal Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers to:
This is about livelihoods, communities, and the future of our local economies.
If we don’t act now, more small businesses will collapse, more jobs will be lost, and more communities will suffer.
We need 10,000 signatures to demand a fair go for Australia’s small businesses.
Letter body is no longer available.

its unfair more big businesses stayed alive and making big money while small business had to shut downs because of governments unfairness they should of being helped to stay alive ! but Australia is becoming one law for the rich and different for the poor and we all pay our taxes maybee more the poor because the rich find anyway to evade taxes !

I worked my life a Butcher for 50 years 25 of which I was self employed in my own Business. I worked hard enjoying watching my family grow making friends along the way to see Supermarkets destroy my trade and retire with no Super on a pension. I think it is to late for me but God help the next generation.

I am a small business owner that employs 7 people and does great work. But many big firms don’t pay us on time, steal and rebadge our IP and attempt to poach staff by offering things we can’t ( eg o/s postings). They dominate the grad market and even Engineers Australia pander to them over small business. Government also has silly rules and hoops to jump through which are more difficult for small consultancies yo meet - despite providing better advise. don’t

Communities rely on small businesses. Big business creams off profits & these often go to overseas conglomerates who in my opinion should not be opersting in Australia in the first place.

As a small business owner the costs of licence, fees and rediculous council regulations have increased 100%+ over the last 3yrs towards breaking point. There is no justification in most of these hikes/changes, just a double-sided bill.
