Demand Enhanced Mental Health Services in Australia
In the investigation of the Bondi Junction massacre across the past weekend, mental illness has been concluded as the motive behind the tragedy.
The system has failed.
The attacker, Joel Cauchi, had lifelong mental health issues, including a diagnosis of Schizophrenia. Tragically, his actions cost the lives of 6 people, wrecked their families’ lives along with the wounding of 12 others, including a 9-month old baby. The public health system has failed Cauchi along with countless others to support and manage their mental health issues.
Enough is enough.
We demand immediate action from the Australian government to provide more accessible support and management to the valuable members in our community who live with mental disorders.
Our goal is 10, 000 signatures by Monday, May 6 2024.
Let’s stand together to protect the welfare and lives of all Australians.
Sign this petition to demand that Bill Shorten, the Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme protect our loved ones from these systemic failures that must be avoided in the future.
Together, we can create a more accessible and understanding country for those in need of help.
