End the harm to refugees in Australia

End the harm to refugees in Australia
  • Over 3,000 people have been sent to offshore detention since 2013.
  • Hundreds remain in limbo, either offshore or transferred here with no pathway to safety.
  • Reports of assault, medical neglect, and mental health breakdowns are widespread.
  • Families and children have been detained for months, even years.
  • At least 14 deaths have occurred under Australia’s offshore detention regime.

The UN has found Australia in breach of international human rights obligations due to arbitrary detention.

Australia’s treatment of refugees has become a global stain on our conscience. Survivors of war and persecution are met with violence, indefinite detention, and mental anguish.

The facts are clear: our detention policies are causing irreversible harm. Offshore facilities have broken people and onshore centres are plagued with abuse. Disagreeing with refugee policy doesn’t excuse cruelty. Abuse is never a solution.

We demand that Federal Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese to:

  • End offshore detention permanently
  • Close high-security facilities
  • Establish a transparent inquiry into abuse

This is a human rights emergency, and it’s happening on our watch. Refugees deserve dignity, not damage.

We need 10,000 signatures by 31st May 2025 to bring attention to this issue and demand an end to this cruelty. Sign the petition to make a difference in the life of refugees.
