Australia’s small businesses are in crisis.
Behind every closing shopfront is a family, a dream, and a team of workers trying to make ends meet. These businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, driving employment, innovation, and local resilience. Yet they are being left behind while costs soar and support stalls.
Big corporations have the means and influence to survive. Small businesses don’t — and they’re paying the price for it.
Enough is enough.
We call on Federal Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers to:
This is about livelihoods, communities, and the future of our local economies.
If we don’t act now, more small businesses will collapse, more jobs will be lost, and more communities will suffer.
We need 10,000 signatures to demand a fair go for Australia’s small businesses.

Subject: Urgent Call for Fair Tax Cuts and Real Support for Small Businesses
To Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers,
I’m writing to you not as a politician or lobbyist, but as someone who sees — every day — how much small businesses do for this country.
They’re the café down the street that remembers your order, the family-run mechanic who’ll stay open late for a neighbour, and the hairdresser who sponsors the local footy team. They’re run by people who work long hours, take big risks, and do their best to create jobs and community — not just profit.
But right now, many of them are hanging on by a thread.
Over 11,000 companies have collapsed in the last year. Rising costs, a 25% tax rate, and limited targeted support have left small business owners stretched beyond breaking point. And yet, these are the very people who kept going through bushfires, floods, and a pandemic.
The attached petition, signed by people across Australia, is calling for urgent action:
Please don’t let these voices go unheard. We’re not asking for special treatment, just a fair go.
Sincerely,
